INVISIBLE ROLES
Which roles do we take on — consciously or not — and which are placed upon us? The group exhibition Invisible Roles, organised by Hamburg-based fashion label and culture platform APN Gallery, explores the visible and invisible roles carried by those too often overlooked within a predominantly normative society — with a focus on perspectives shaped by BIPoC, FLINTA and queer experience.*
At its centre are questions of attribution, identity, masking and self-empowerment.
As a collective forum, it brings together fashion, textile, visual art, performance and text to surface marginalised perspectives and open new spaces for dialogue.
Invisible Roles is a two-day group exhibition presented by APN Gallery at Villa E362, Hamburg. Moving between art, photography, performance and fashion, the exhibition considers how identities and social roles are seen, assigned and lived.
The programme brings together creative director and photographer Mia Conolly; painters Joséphine Sagna and Nana Opoku Agyemang; artists Vreni Jäckle, Liubov Kucheriava and Anna Bochkova; and author and performance artist Larissa Hellmund.
